Gastric Balloon
Gastric Balloon Placement

The gastric balloon is placed in the stomach endoscopically under mild sedation. It is filled with saline containing a blue dye and left in the stomach for 6 months. It works by inducing a feeling of fullness so that you will not want to eat large portions of food at each meal. At the end of the 6 month period another endoscopy is performed to remove the balloon.
